Our first project was on 60 acres in the middle province near the
town of Hinche or Thomonde.  The 60 acres was donated to
Cooperative Farm Initiative for Haiti.  Can you help?  Our budget will
be $50,000 for the first year, and a gift from you will make a huge
difference.  We thank Caring House Project's donation  in this
endeavor.  CFIH welcomes your support by any means.

PIG

The slaughter of
the Creole pigs by
the Haitian
government in the
1980's, spurred on
by U.S. concerns
over swine flu, is a
classic case of the
use of
inappropriate
methods.

GOAT

A goat means food.
Income for medical
expenses. Often, a
single goat can pay
for a year of school
tuition. Some
families drink goats’
milk and make
cheese. Goats
produce quite a bit
of milk every day,
often enough for
families to sell the
surplus in the
marketplace.
Other families
strictly raise goats to
have babies. Once
grown, the kids are
put up for sale.

COW

By purchasing a cow,
you are not only
helping a family in
Haiti by providing up
to four gallons of milk
per day but you will
help with their
community. Dairy
cows can produce up
to four gallons of milk
per day. Enough for a
family, their neighbors
and still have enough
left to sell at market.
Families can sell the
surplus milk and use
the money for school
uniforms and fees,
medicine and
clothing.

MANGO TREE

Haiti was once one
of the biggest
exporters of
mangos in the
Americas, but a
U.S.-led embargo
had disastrous
effects on Haiti's
economy,
including the
near total
destruction of the
mango industry.

This purchase
helps rebuild that
economy.

POULTRY

Free range poultry
farming consists of
poultry permitted
to roam freely
instead of being
contained in any
manner.

Owning and
caring for
chickens is well
within the reach of
most Haitian
families. Help
jumpstart this by
donating a rooster
and chicken pair.
